School Admissions
General Information about Admissions to St. Vincent's
St. Vincent’s is a Roman Catholic Primary School under the trusteeship of the Diocese of Shrewsbury. It is maintained by Cheshire East Education Authority. As a Voluntary Aided School the Governing Body is the Admissions’ Authority and is responsible for making decisions on applications for admissions. The co-ordination of admissions arrangements is undertaken by the Education Authority. This means that parents wishing to apply for a place at St. Vincent's will need to make the application via Cheshire East Council, who will pass the application information onto the School. Then the Governors make the decision - not the Local Authority.
Starting Reception in September 2024
The admissions round for September 2024 will open early in September 2023. The process for Reception admissions is as follows:
- Early in the October prior to your child starting school you will be contacted by the Local Authority asking you to rank three schools for which you wish to apply for a place for your child. The closing date for this is typically around mid-January of the year your child is due to start Reception (now confirmed as 15th January).
- This application is submitted to the Local Authority, although you must provide our school with a document called a Supplementary Information Form ('SIF') and a copy of your child's Baptism certificate.
- After the closing date, the Local Authority sends school the data and the Governors then consider the applications and apply the admission criteria. This information is sent back to the Local Authority who will then prepare the offers.
- The Local Authority will send Parents an offer letter - this is usually in the middle of April.
- Parents have 10 working days in which to accept or decline the offer.
