Welcome back to the Spring Term
The term has already been a busy one and the children have all been working hard. Coming up really soon we have some very exciting events such as an activity day at St Nicholas High School, a basketball day with Paul Sturgess, Forest School days and our residential trip to Petty Pool Education Centre (at the beginning of next term).
RE - Jesus the Teacher
Our RE topic this half-term is 'Jesus the Teacher'. We thought carefully about how Jesus began his Father's mission on earth from the moment that he was presented in the temple to Simeon and Anna. We pondered on the Baptism of Jesus and the moment when Jesus chose his first disciples.We will also be looking at some of the parables that Jesus told, to help people understand the Good News of God more clearly.
For our class display we considered the three ways of knowing; Understand, Respond and Discern. We explored these in different areas of our work, including how the Holy Trinity was present at Jesus' baptism and how we can be a disciple of Jesus today.
Science - Sound
We have found our Science topic fascinating and through our experiments have investigated how sound is made from vibrations, how to change the pitch and how sound travels through different materials.
Music
We are making super progress with our music lessons and we have even showcased our very own Year 4 music performance to the whole school and to our parents.
