Support at home - Apps, games and resources.

Below you will find some useful links to key apps, games, and resources which you can use to support your child at home. If you find any other apps or games, please share them on Tapestry so we can share them with other parents.

 

Phonics and Reading

Oxford Owl Reading Scheme - These are free e-books that are similar to those in our Whole School Reading Scheme.

Phonics Play - This website has some free access When accessing games make sure you focus on Phase 4 and 5.

Teach Your Monster To Read App- This is a great app for developing early reading. It is fun and educational at the same time.

Hairy Phonics/Letter – Great phonics apps.

 

English Writing

Pobble365  - This website has a daily image that prompts discussion and ideas for writing opportunities.

Oak School – Some of the Oak Online Academy English lessons are good if you are looking for daily writing activities. Sessions last about half an hour and are pitched at a good level. However, please be cautious with their other resources as they don’t necessarily follow what we teach in school.

Literacy Company - In the Files section, you will find a unit from the Literacy Company with ideas to stimulate writing at home. 

 

Maths

Topmarks Maths - Great games for the tablet.

Abacus - We will set activities weekly for children to access with their individual log on details. They can also access The Maths Factor at their own pace and consolidate their understanding of number.

 

Science

Wow Science - This website has a range of activities and games to play.

 

Physical Education

Go Noodle  - Lots of physical movement activities

Super movers - Great for keeping active

Cosmic Yoga - This YouTuber has shared a range of stories told using Yoga. It's great for some calming time.

Dough Disco - This fun video that helps children build up their fine motor skills.

CAFOD  - There are a variety of activities for all ages linked to prayer and faith.

 

General 

BBC Bitesize - Lots of ideas and activities for a variety of topics.

Twinkl - Lots of ideas and activities for a variety of topics and some resources are free.

Hamilton Trust – Hamilton Trust has a range of home learning tasks which you can dip in and out of.

Topmarks – There are a wide range of games, presentations and resources to support learning across the curriculum.
