RHS Tatton 2019!

RHS Tatton Flower Show 2019

This year, our garden was based all around the world of Grasshopper's! I asked the children to use the computors and iPads to gather information about grasshoppers such as where live, whats their diet, do they symbolise something and where they orginate from. These are some of the mood boards the children created.

Once the children had collected enough information, they started to produce some designs using the large whiteboards. The children discussed the information they had found, collaborated ideas and used some designing tips from Miss Hughes to produce their final garden design!

During the build up for the show the children worked hard to grow their plants from seeds, plug plants while also learning to divide and split plants such as grasses, hosta's and geraniums!

With every year group helping in some what whether it was painting, sowing, dividing or potting up, every year group had a task to complete to contribute to the RHS Garden!

Build Day #1

This is where the fun started! The children came prepared with packed lunches fit for kings and queens which was definately a great choice! The amount of effort and hardwork put in by the children and the helpers was fantastic! A day full of lifting, shifting, planting, painting and more made a fantastic start to the show garden with the pathways layed out, plants positioned and the backdrops final touches completed. This ment the garden was on track for the show and ready for ST Vincent's Garden Team #2 to continue the task the following day!

Look at the fabulous start to a show a show garden the children have done!

Build Day #2

Very much the same as the day before, the children worked extremely hard to ensure al the final touches were complete on the garden ready for judging day the following week! They covered every pot, painted every inch of the backdrop, removed gravel from the flower beds and cleaned the dirt off the slate! With all this hard work, they designed, grew and built there very own RHS Tatton 2019 Show Garden! I couldn't be more proud and I hope they were too!

The children, Miss Hughes, Mrs Hales, Mrs McAlister and all the parents helpers throughtly enjoyed the experience of the RHS Tatton Flower Shows! We had heaps of fun and hope to attend another year!
