Our topic for the first half term is Creation.  This has stimulated some thought provoking discussions particularly around Adam and whether he should have been punished or not.  The children also queried why the serpent approached Eve.  These are big questions for Year 5 and they were excellent in putting their views across.  We took the lesson outside to produce art work using natural materials to represent the story of 'The Fall.'

We have been looking at the picture book 'The Lost Happy Endings' by Carol Ann Duffy.  This has provided us with some fantastic writing opportunities.  The children have worked really hard at expanding their vocabulary to write wonderful descriptions.  Keep up the good work Year 5!

Our Science topic of Space was completed with a trip to Jodrell Bank.  We had a fantastic time conducting a variety of investigations including how to fix the International Space Station wearing space gloves!  The children were eager to ask and answer questions and I think we may have some astronauts of the future among us!
